Prof. Ahmed Medhat Mohamed Al-Naggar
He is the professor of Plant Breeding in the Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture in the Cairo University, Giza, Egypt. His expertise research areas include Conventional and Molecular Plant breeding, Agronomy, Biometry, Biotechnology, Biotic and Abiotic stresses. His main interests are includes Maize, Wheat, Sorghum and Quinoa, Conventional Plant breeding, Molecular Plant breeding, Agronomy, Biotechnology, Tolerance to Drought, Salinity, Low-N, diseases, insects. He has received many prestigious prizes and awards namely, (1) The State Encouragement Prize in Agricultural Science, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Ministry of Scientific Research, Egypt, for the Year 2002. (2) Cairo University Prize of Scientific Excellence in the field of Multidiscipline and Future Sciences for the Year 2007 and (3) Research Grant from Fulbright Commission, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA for the Year 1987/1988. Till date, he has supervised 28 completed Ph.D. and 30 M.Sc. thesis whereas, 5 Ph.D. thesis are going on under his supervision. He has published his research findings in 223 scientific papers in different international peer reviewed journals. He also serves as Editor/Chief Editor/Reviewer in a number of National and International Scientific Journals. He has a comparative high h-index (23) and i-index (55) in Google scholar and records an appreciable number of citations (1717).
