The mungbean commodity is increasingly attracting the attention of many parties because this commodity is important as a relatively cheap food source of vegetable protein, as well as an export commodity. The development of the mungbean-based food (food and beverage) industry is currently quite advanced. It is not surprising that the prospects for developing mungbeans in Indonesia are quite large. From the aspect of material availability (seeds or mungbean grains), the productivity and production of mungbeans need to continue to be increased through the application of cultivation technology and the development of planting areas.

The title of this book is considered very appropriate and relevant to be used at this time to provide understanding to the public about the importance of developing mungbeans in the future. The contents of this book include: plant characteristics, nutritional content and benefits of consuming mungbeans, cultivation technology and seed production, the economic value of farming mungbeans, processed food products, and prospects for the development of mungbeans in Indonesia.

The contents of this book are presented in a simple, clear and straightforward manner so that it is easy to read and understand the meaning. This book is not only dedicated for practitioners and students to read, but also for lecturers and policy makers.
